Tricortical bone graft from lateral malleolus as an alternative for iliac crest graft in the operative treatment of foot deformities: graft harvesting technique and its application

چکیده
The paper describes the technique and application of a tricortical bone graft harvesting from lateral malleolus. Graft does not interfere with continuity fibula. Due to its structure, is equivalent similarly structured taken iliac crest. used in osteotomies arthrodesis within foot ankle joint, which require strong piece as wedge. author typically uses this type for osteotomy anterior part calcaneus an opening wedge (Evans’ osteotomy), calcaneal-cuboid arthrodesis, talo-calcaneal especially after calcaneal fractures, Green-Grice extra-articular Dwyer II correction varus deformity middle, medial cuneiform supplement defects techniques requiring lengthening metatarsals.

Initial Experience with Tricortical Iliac Crest Bone Graft and Human Amniotic Allograft in Evans Calcaneal Osteotomy
Background: Adult acquired flatfoot deformity is generally mediated with an Evans procedure where a wedge of bone is placed into the calcaneus to better align the foot and decrease the deformity. The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of human amniotic allograft applied to allogeneic tri-cortical grafts in Evans calcaneal osteotomy. Methods: The medical records of patie...
متن کاملBupivacaine for pain reduction after iliac crest bone graft harvest.
Iliac crest bone graft remains the gold standard in achieving spinal arthrodesis, but chronic pain from graft harvest occurs in up to 39% of patients. Studies have shown that a single administration of local anesthetic reduces short-term pain, but they have not adequately investigated possible longer-term benefits. The goal of this study was to determine whether local administration of bupivaca...
متن کاملAnatomical glenoid reconstruction for recurrent anterior glenohumeral instability with glenoid deficiency using an autogenous tricortical iliac crest bone graft.
BACKGROUND Anterior shoulder instability associated with severe glenoid bone loss is rare, and little has been reported on this problem. Recent biomechanical and anatomical studies have suggested guidelines for bony reconstruction of the glenoid. HYPOTHESIS Anatomical glenoid reconstruction will restore stability in shoulders with recurrent anterior instability owing to glenoid bone loss. S...
متن کاملIliac Crest Bone Graft Harvesting: Prospective Study Of Various Techniques And Donor Site Morbidity
Background Harvesting autograft bone from the ilium is not without complications. When cases are reported in follow-ups, investigators usually concentrate upon treatment outcome of the principle problems and not on the donor site morbidity from harvesting a bone graft. The purpose of our study is to assess the complications related to bone grafting site of iliac crest, simultaneously evaluation...
